Welcome to PS 153Q

Maspeth Elementary PS 153 is excited to expand our Polish-English Dual Language Program. We will have a Pre-Kindergarten Class, Kindergarten and First Grade Dual Language Class.

Description of the Program:

• Balanced Language Model (50/50 model), reflects the balance of the two languages.

• Students receive half of their instruction in English and the other half in Polish.

• Content instruction will be supportive of full bilingual proficiency for both native Polish speakers and fluent English speakers and will be taught in both English and Polish.

• Educators integrate multiculturalism through read-aloud, songs, and arts & crafts activities in the classroom as well as through field trips and multicultural presentations outside of the classroom.
