Video Transcript

Welcome. This video will help you sign in to your New York City Department of Education Google Classroom account on a web browser. First, you need to open a web browser on your computer. You  can use Google Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox. You can get to the Google Classroom page by going to our school's website at ps153q.org and look for the Google Classroom link on the home page. Or you can go to classroom.google.com and click sign in to classroom.

This where you enter your DOE student email. Your student email ends with @nycstudents.net. It usually begins with your first name, the first letter of your last name, and probably a number. Don't forget you have to type @nycstudents.net. Once you type you DOE email, you can go ahead and click next. And remember, your DOE student email does not require capital letters.

You will now see the New York City Department of Education's sign in page. Here, you only need to enter your username and password. Your username is the first part of your email - your first name, the first letter of your last name, and probably a number. You do not need to enter @nycstudents.net. You only need to enter your username. Again, capital letters are not required.

Next, you will enter your password. Your parent probably created a password for you, or maybe you created your own password, or a teacher might have provided you with a password. You will enter your password, which is case sensitive. This means, you have to enter capital letters where needed. Once you've entered your password, you can go ahead and click sign in.

Once you click sign in, you will see your classes listed in Google Classroom. You can also click the plus sign to join a teacher's class. You will need a code from your teacher to join a class. If you have any questions, you can visit our home page at ps153q.org for more information about logging in to Google Classroom.
